Acorn Bears
(Formerly Lynne's Bears)
Bears I have made, not for sale yet!
This page is under construction - thanks for looking!
This is "Tumbleweed", 12" kid mohair with a dark back.  He is fully jointed, with wire armature in his arms only for posing, and features glass eyes, felt shaded paw pads, waxed stitched nose.  Weighted nicely with BBs.  Now what else am I forgetting?

At right is my recent creation, a 13" panda in short kid mohair, with a Golly I cheated on - a craft store body and dress, hand done face and mohair hairdo!
At left is "Rusty", a 15" curly kid mohair bear. He is stuffed softly with poly and weighted with gravel from my driveway!  Not a good photo of him.  In front is "Tucker", a rusty gold little 8" guy.  I really don't know if I can make bears smaller than him!
Pardon my poor photographs!  I promise to replace these with clearer ones sometime soon!
designed with Homestead
At right is "Hershey", of hand dyed curly matted Schulte mohair (also has gravel in his tummy).  He has leather paw pads. On his left is a mohair panda from a kit from Intercal.  I had just wanted to make a panda and not have to think too much about it!  He is about 8"
This is "Clarence", 24" gold curly matted Schulte mohair.  Clarence was my reintroduction to making bears with mohair, and now I am hooked.

Clarence is famous.  I made him for a productions of "The Curious Savage" in which he had a leading role.  He wore a matching eyepatch (to appear one-eyed) and was originally made with a removeable head! It needed to be unscrewed to reveal documents hidden in his tummy.

After retiring from the stage, Clarence had corrective surgery and his head is now jointed properly. He also gained a good deal of weight as often happens after retirement (gravel again!)

In his lap is a 12" jester made from scrap Clarence fur (dyed) and mohair upholstery velvet.
Clarence in a scene from "The Curious Savage" as presented by 2nd Star Productions of Bowie, MD in March of 2003.  His "blind" side is downstage.

His co-actors are Kathryn Smith as Ethel Savage (seated) and Martin Hayes as Dr. Emmett.
This is "Sandy", 12" kid mohair.  He is fully jointed, and features glass eyes, felt shaded paw pads, waxed stitched nose.  Weighted nicely with BBs. He's Tumbleweed's brother (below).  He doesn't have an armature in his arms though - too much trouble ;)

I made Sandy for my sister for Christmas 2005.  She loves him!  It was a great surprise gift.
